The Salt River First Nation Multipurpose Facility is located in the centre of the town of Fort Smith, in the Northwest Territories. Fort Smith, the early Capital of the Northwest Territories, is situated on the banks of the Slave River, and just north of the Alberta border. Salt River First Nation’s (SRFN’s) fundamental vision for the building is to provide an iconic feature along the community's main street (McDougal Road), and to reflect the pride and traditional values of the First Nation and the Fort Smith community.
