This bold and modern laboratory facility has been designed for Gilead ULC, an organization who develops and manufactures investigational drugs and supplies ingredients for clinical research programs. It was mandated by Gilead Alberta to help speed the development of new pharmaceutical products.

Located on a 10-acre site in northeast Edmonton, this cutting-edge laboratory contains labs and lab support spaces, offices and meeting spaces.

Behind its contemporary design lies a multitude of sustainable features. A high-performance building envelope wraps around the building, providing significant energy use and cost reductions, while a high-tech heat recovery system reuses waste heat from the exhaust air stream of the lab’s 40 fume hoods.

Balancing contemporary design, energy efficiency and functionality, Gilead Sciences New Laboratory facilitates this organization’s important work. A second laboratory building was added to the campus in 2016.
